Prior to founding Hill, Taylor LLC, he was Deputy Director of the Chicago Economic Development Corp, Staff Auditor for Grant Thornton, and Cost Accountant for Union Carbide in New York. He has nearly three decades of experience as a business owner whose firm is one of America's largest minority CPA firms.

Hill received his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Central State University, and has an MBA (in Personnel, Administration & Accounting) from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business. He received his certification as a CPA from the State of Illinois.
